A one-stop shopping experience with a family feel

The article discusses Lawton’s expansion that has led us to meet more of the needs of our customer base.

Lawton now offers a one-stop shopping experience for customers, as we boast 5 iron foundries, 1 steel foundry and 2 distributors/suppliers. These combined capabilities set Lawton Standard apart from other companies in the foundry industry.

Sales and Marketing manager Andy Mastalir told Manufacturing in Focus that Lawton uses lessons learned at one facility across the entire family of companies. Sharing teams across these locations has helped the company be more consistent.

“Lawton is a growing company that still has a family feel,” said Marketing and Communications Coordinator Nate Vandergrift.

Strategic Marketing Consultant Terra L. Fletcher told Manufacturing in Focus that the family atmosphere starts with CEO Alex Lawton. “Everyone feels that they are a part of something bigger and Alex Lawton’s personability is rare in the industry.”

Ecological stewardship and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement

The article goes on to detail Lawton Standard’s commitment to ecological stewardship and being a good neighbor in the communities where we have facilities.

The Manufacturing in Focus article also touched on Lawton’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. This includes things like advanced software to help predict a pour and a casting’s quality even before the first drop of molten metal is poured.

Another way Lawton is committed to continuous improvement is by being involved with a variety of clients in a number of different industries. “We don’t overexpose ourselves to any one industry or customer,” said Mastalir.  This helps the company be flexible depending on the business conditions.

Looking toward the future at Lawton Standard

Looking into the year ahead, 2025, Lawton Standard will continue to work on expanding capabilities and finding out what needs must be fulfilled. Fletcher told the article’s writer that the company’s products are conceived in very long sales cycles to be ready for future sales. It helps Lawton to withstand market changes and fluctuations.

Another key part of the future is attracting younger people into the foundry industry. “We want our young people to know there are good options here,” Fletcher told Manufacturing in Focus.

Lawton aims at extending a helping hand to the younger workforce, showing them the type of career they can build in the Lawton Standard family of companies.
