Finalist for WI Manufacturer of the Year

The Lawton Standard Co. has been selected as one of the finalists for this year’s Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award.

The annual award is giving out by Wisconsin Manufacturing and Commerce, in coordination with Baker Tilly and Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. The WMC says that manufacturing creates economic growth and is the engine that drives the Wisconsin economy. 1 in 6 workers in the state works in manufacturing and it’s an industry that brings in $72 billion each year. This award celebrates the successes of manufacturers in the state, highlighting innovation, philanthropy, technological advances, commitment to customer satisfaction and quality job creation.

Committed to innovation and quality

Lawton Standard is proud of our commitment to continuous improvement through innovation and quality control. We are also proud of our relationships with our customers and the welcoming work culture here at Lawton.

For five generations, the Lawton name is synonymous with innovation and quality. The C.A. Lawton Company started back in 1879 and has grown into a one-stop shop for customers looking for high-quality iron and steel castings ranging from 5 pounds up to 35,000 pounds.

The most impressive thing through all the growth is that the Lawton Standard Co. still has a family-feel, where employees are treated as people, not numbers.

Wide range of capabilities

Today’s Lawton Standard boasts five iron foundries (C.A. Lawton-De Pere, WIC.A. Lawton-Minster, OHLawton Standard-St. Paul, MNPenn-Mar Castings, Hanover, PA and Renaissance Manufacturing Group-Anniston, AL) and one steel foundry (Temperform-Novi, MI). Lawton also operates two supplier/distribution companies (AIA/Versa-Bar-Waukesha, WI/Baltimore, MD/Houston, TX and AMSCO Wear Products (Wilmington, DE/Sparks, NV).

Lawton is dedicated to remarkable castings, outstanding and friendly customer service and a workplace culture rooted in genuine care and connection.  The company is also committed to being a good neighbor in the communities where our facilities are located and is dedicated to environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Innovation is key to staying ahead in the foundry industry and Lawton Standard is committed to finding better, more efficient ways to provide high-quality iron and steel castings to our customers. The family of companies uses solidification software to help ensure a casting’s quality even before a drop of molten metal is poured. Our engineers also test and study our castings after they are poured to determine the right composition of metal and the right toughness and machinability. Of course, the magic starts in our pattern shop, where skilled patternmakers turn customer designs, drawings and sketches into patterns that will ultimately churn out high-quality castings. Many of Lawton’s locations offer in-house pattern shops and some also offer in-house machine shops which can produce precision finished castings to fit your needs.

It is a team effort to make a remarkable casting from beginning to end. Lawton has molded this over time, and adhering to our customers’ specifications, geometries and tolerances helps us produce high-quality castings.

Despite the rapid growth of Lawton Standard since its inception in 2019, the company remains grounded in providing the highest quality service to its customers, ensuring their casting needs are met and the end result exceeds their expectations.
