The Lawton Standard Co. announces GM appointments

The Lawton Standard Co. is pleased to announce the next step in building a comprehensive casting offering in the iron and steel segments of the foundry industry. This step involves installing effective operational leadership for each of its sites to direct the overall strategies of delivering quality castings from the newly formed family of foundries.

Tim Horner will continue as Operations Manager of The C.A. Lawton Co. facility in Minster, OH.  Tim joined the operation as a grinder after serving an extended time in the US Marines. In his 34 years, he has held every job classification except furnace operator. Tim’s top priorities are getting good people and keeping them. His belief in the strength of the abilities of the team members sets them in an excellent position to tackle the largest and most complex core jobs offered by the platform.

Gloria Webber has been appointed General Manager at Temperform, LLC in Novi, MI. Gloria joined Temperform 23 years ago as an inside sales rep and worked her way up to Director of Sales. Gloria’s drive to keep team members safe while developing their skills guides her to grow Temperform in a continual, methodical manner. She sees the opportunity to land strategic, customer-focused projects, which will allow Temperform to expand in a way that will last.

Tom Young has been appointed General Manager of Penn-Mar Castings in Hanover, PA. Tom brings over 39 years of foundry experience at Decatur Foundry, where he held positions throughout the organization from molder and pourer to manager and CEO. Tom’s drive for a safe work environment and personal belief that people are our strongest asset are an excellent fit for The Lawton Standard family culture, and the Penn-Mar Castings drive to provide superior service to its customers.

Ken Spuda has been appointed General Manager of The C.A. Lawton in De Pere, WI. Ken began his career creating compressor casting drawings for Allis-Chalmers in West Allis, WI. Since then, work experiences include responsibilities at privately held, custom OEM companies ranging from pharmaceutical, food production, and material handling. Ken’s belief in a servant leadership style of management fits well into the Lawton family of companies.

Alex Lawton, CEO of The Lawton Standard Co., commented on the diversity of backgrounds of the facility managers. “We have assembled a great collection of site managers. We are combining people who have been at their location for extended periods with those new to the company—and further combining people from within the industry and outside. The diversity of backgrounds and focus areas running each site, coupled with the same for the parent company’s leadership, only adds to the strength of the whole. I’m very excited about this structural progress as we continue forward in our evolution.”

Barry Adamski, COO of Lawton Standard, touched further on how this team’s varying skills would benefit not only each facility but across the organization. “Our approach to select the best person available for the position was a primary criterion, but we also look to better the team. This team is a good example of that philosophy as it brings together many complementary skills with similar goal focus.”

The Lawton Standard Co. is a specialty metals platform providing customers with a diverse offering of cast products and related services.  They currently operate four facilities providing steel, stainless steel, gray iron, and ductile iron castings with locations in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
